The Ban Begins

I got this from NewReleaseTuesday.com. I think it's worth reading. They have a good point.

Banning All Stupid Christian Bans
Every now and then, I have to move away from the subject of Christian music to talk about something else. So to you I say…Happy Christmas! Oh yeah. I said it. The big “C” word. The one that has been around for centuries that is all of a sudden causing such an uproar in our community. In fact, this year, Christian organizations across the nation are so frustrated about Target’s recent decision to ban the word “Merry Christmas” from their in-store promotions and from their advertising in papers, TV, etc., (as well as the recent ban of Salvation Army bell ringers) that there is a call to ban shopping with the retailer all together.
I’m sorry, but am I the only believer left on this planet that has not lost it? Am I truly the only one that could care less if Target shines bright in such a dark and dismal world?
One has to wonder if people are asking themselves this question before beginning to foam at the mouth: Before Target decided to rip the fabric of morality out of Christmas, what exactly was the company doing for the Kingdom of God in the first place? The answer solves this issue fairly quickly in my mind. Absolutely nothing.
Target is not a pillar of our faith. They do not exist to bring people closer to God. Their employees do not pray for people’s salvation in the laundry detergent isle. Sure, these stores sell everything from CDs to underwear, but building up your personal faith has never been on their agenda. So why do you care so much about it now?
But this catastrophic event is not just at Target. The fact is, “Christmas” IS under attack in our nation and more and more retailers, city leaders and school districts are taking the “we love everyone” approach as they replace “Christmas” with “Holidays.” It’s sad and I don’t quite understand it, but when believers begin to band together and shout for the collapse of companies and organizations that never had a moral agenda to begin with, I feel we look more like a bunch of rabid buffoons waiting to pounce than the caring, loving, compassionate people God wants us to be (deep breath).
If you are dying to tear down a retailer, tell everyone you know to stop wearing Abercrombie & Fitch. Even their own models can’t stand wearing their clothes. There’s a “down with the retailer” agenda I can get behind.

Glowing

Well, here it is, after 1 in the morning....the beginning of my Thanksgiving break! Actually, the beginning of my break started at 3 today. It could have started at 2 yesterday if i had chosen to NOT go to my class today b/c my first was cancelled so i worked an entire shift today and my second one was cut to last only 30 minutes instead of 80 minutes so i debated on not going but i went anyways... wow! that was a long sentence! but i did go to class. I thought that since i was getting off work anyways and heading sorta in that direction it was okay. i had nothing better to do than to clean my room! i did get my bathroom cleaned! i'm very proud of myself too! :) good job kimmy. except now, i'm prolly gonna destroy in 30 minutes so i can clean off my bed. i've been trying to pack, but it's not that easy when you have a computer to distract you!

Okay, this is for amanda: I went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire at midnight last thursday! it was SO good! i also went to see it on Sunday w/ my sister in Cullman. that was fun! this is my favorite harry potter movie by far! good job to all those hollywood peeps!

Tonight was the 4thish annual walk from IHOP! Shout out to Lindsey for the poster! Really cute! :) i had a blast at IHOP tonight! SOO many ppl were there! I loved the energy! And it was Sarah's first trip to IHOP after Cru! AND Marty announced to the entire room that i was pregnant just b/c he said i was glowing last week! thanks marty! i'm not mad, but it was really embarrassing to announce that to EVERYBODY at IHOP! Then everybody kept saying stuff to me about it! OMG!

anyway... it's bedtime! i travel to cullman tomorrow morning after i wake up and finish packing! yay! HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!

Woo-Hoo

YAY! Thanks to Caleb, I am now writing in my newly designed blog! YES! i love it! it's so cool! He asked me if i liked it even though it wasn't pink, but i kinda get bored of pink if it's everything i own and get or whatever. i like it.

let's hear ya'll's comments, k?

last night I went to the Hawk Nelson and Thousand Foot Krutch concert w/ Chris, his little brother, and Derek in Nashville. I had so much fun! Hawk Nelson rocked my socks! I got a t-shirt and a poster and they signed the poster and i talked to them about their huntsville show they didn't get to play at b/c of the weather...i mean, it was only tornado warnings! it wasn't like they were real tornadoes or anything!

But yeah, it was a blast! i got in at like 2:15 last night. so i was real tired. and now i dont know what to do today! so many options... k, i dunno what i'm gonna do. i dont really care what i do. i dont even care if i just stay in my APT all day.

Updating Problems

okay, so these updating problems are not technical. i just can't seem to find the time to sit down and type for about 20 minutes. I have school, work, crusade, and friends! GOSH!

So, not much is going on. I bought some more new clothes at Old Navy and American Eagle! So exciting! All on sale of course!

I had to work today! It really sucks working on Thurdsay mornings, b/c that means my day starts at 10 and goes to at least 8 w/ 1.5 hours for a break so i can eat supper and probably finish my article summary, like usual! I need to do that in a few minutes! i haven't done it yet! i love procrastination! (not really! i wish i was not a procrastinator, but i can't help but put things off. i was getting better at it, but now i'm back to normal!)

This will prolly be my last day of doing this! Tonight is our last real 3 hour, 1 day a week class! I'm SO excited! Our final is on Dec. 1st. I'm glad he changed it b/c i would have had 1 final each day for 4 days straight! But now i have 3 for 3 days straight. Not as bad, but still bad. my easiest class is in the middle. and i cna't remember the other 2.

did i mention that i hate my job. well, not really my job, but my boss and a couple of co-workers. they just make life harder...ya know the kind?

i've been watching a lot of movies lately. And the next one i'm excited about going to see is HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE! It premieres in Huntsvegas tonight at 11:59pm! YAY! I'm excited about it!!!

okay, now time for me to work on my summary and eat some supper before i go to class!

Ouch!!

I just totally bit the corner of my mouth! i hate it when i do that! i used to do it all the time, but not so much anymore.

i am procrastinating from studying and finishing a case study analysis right now. My test is not until next monday, but i need to start studying now. And I have a case study analysis due on Thursday that is worth 1/16 or so of my final grade! I really need a good grade on that so i can try and get a B in the class. If I do well this semester (which i NEED to in order to get an internship and to keep my scholarships for my last semester), I can get that internship...wow, that was a weird sentence.

Okay, now i'm off to the AdSci building to study and then go to class b/c we should be getting our tests back in there. I studied really hard for those tests, so i hope i get a good grade! i need it in there too! ah!!!

Oh, btw, i registered for my final semester at UAH yesterday! I cannot believe i have finally made it to the end of my college career! i think i'm about to cry (okay, not really), but it is sentimental! *sigh*

Oh HAPPY DAY! I graduate in May! I hafta go to class today! My sister's middle name is Kaye! I like to play on stacks of hay! All I want to do now is lay! Get outta my way! YAY! And that's all i gots to say!

(okay, okay, that was more procrastination! now i'm ready to get off! SEE YA!)
